ABOUT
Looking for delicate indie pop with lyrics about houseplants and rainy Sundays? Yeah, you’ve got the wrong band. Millstöne is a raw, loud, and unapologetic rock and roll power trio straight out of the Netherlands. No pretentious concept albums. No avant-garde, corksniffy nonsense. Just powerful riffs, permanent ear-ringing, and zero apologies, all while channeling the unfiltered energy of legends like AC/DC, Motörhead, and Rose Tattoo.
Formed in 2023 in Hengelo, the Netherlands, Millstöne was founded by drummer Charel Meulensteen with one mission in mind: to shatter the outdated idea that rock and roll, especially drumming, is a boys-only club. Armed with sticks, sweat, and sheer determination, she joined forces with vocalist and bassist Vidal Wildeboer and guitarist Lennart van Kampen to form a trio that does not just play rock and roll, but lives and breathes it.
Together, they are a tight, high-voltage unit with a stage presence that grabs you by the throat and does not let go. Every Millstöne show hits like a punch in the face, in the best way possible: loud, relentless, and unforgettable. The sound is a wall of guitars, pounding drums, and pumping bass lines that rattle you to the bone. Made up of seasoned musicians with years of stage experience, Millstöne has built a reputation as a live act that leaves audiences overwhelmed and exhausted. Whether it is a gritty dive bar or a packed hall, Millstöne always goes all in.
After making noise with their debut single “Wild and Untamed,” Millstöne now turns it up even further with their full-length debut album Down and Dirty, already closing in on 200,000 Spotify streams. Loud, riff-driven, and packed with attitude, the album delivers exactly what the band stands for and proves that Millstöne hits just as hard on record as they do on stage.
Rock and roll ain’t dead. It’s right here.
